The three major components of WPC materials are typically wood fibers/flour, thermoplastic polymers, and additives. Reclaimed wood, sawdust, or bamboo are some of the sources of wood fibers or flour utilized in WPC. These filaments give the composite wood’s organic appearance and texture.
The material has structural strength thanks to the thermoplastic polymers that serve as a binder, including polyethylene or polypropylene. Additionally, they support WPC’s water resistance and dimensional stability. To improve the composite’s function and appearance, additives like stabilizers, colorants, and coupling agents are added.
